Final set of photos from that trip last April.
The day was beautiful when we got there. Blue skies and brilliant sunshine.
Again, spring in a good time to visit the national parks. There are fewer people.
This is the area around Delicate Arch. Full of tired hikers, cameras and tripods.
There wasn’t anyone around at this arch because we had to go off road to get here.
Every vista is beautiful here, even when it’s about to rain.
It was a great trip! I had fun; thanks for coming with me, Mom.
Fourth post on last April’s trip. If you missed the first three, be sure to check them out.
One of the big reasons for the trip was to visit my brother, who lives in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is his backyard: Colorado National Monument
In my better-late-than-never quest to share my vacation photos from last April … I bring you some more delicious desert colors.
This California Condor and his (her?) mate were nesting near the Navajo Bridge. It flew over several times to show off its amazing wing span.
Up next, Mesa Verde, Colorado.
Over the last month I’ve finally gotten my butt in gear and edited through my plethora of vacation memories from LAST April. We’re about to set sail in 10 days on another adventure and I’d never forgive myself if I let one set of vacation photos lapse into another. After (literally) spending hours that turned into days that turned into weeks that turned into month editing these down to 1) what I wanted to keep, an 2) to what I wanted to share with friends via Facebook albums, in my excitement that I was so near the finish line, I uploaded everything to Facebook untoned, ie, straight from the camera with no Photoshop edits. BAD Wendy!
So this week I want to take the time to share with you several of my favorites (now cleaned up and ready for prime time!)
First we went to Zion National Park in southern Utah. It just so happens I already shared this photo during my Best of 2010 posts.
After Zion, we drove to Arizona, where I took one of my favorite shots of all time, the Colorado River at Horseshoe Bend, another one I’ve already shared.
Next, a few typical Arizona desert shots.
